**The Opportunity**
We currently have an opportunity for the right person to grow their career with Western Canada’s leading print-marketing company. This full-time Prepress Operator position is an excellent next step into an in-demand trade with a full-service, industry-leading prepress department.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Preflight, edit, and impose files for output on all devices
- Output soft-proofs and hard-proofs as required
- Respond to technical questions and issues raised by internal and external customers
- Build and modify products and dielines for customers using Adobe CC
- Maintains documentation, files, workflows, and digital archives in a systematic and highly organized manner
- Monitors output for quality; raises issues and deficiencies as required
- Ability to create visually appealing mock-ups
- Support a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations and policies
- Help others with tasks as required and share knowledge to build greater strength among our Teams
- Participate in the development of process and workflow improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- 5+ years of prepress experience in a printing environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Understanding of the printing process for Web and Sheetfed printing
- Proficiency with Kodak Prinergy and InSite workflows
- Prinergy Rules-Based Automation skills and knowledge a plus
- Excellence utilizing Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat) and Enfocus PitStop
- Image manipulation and colour correction using Adobe Photoshop
- Create press-ready files using various PDF Export options to accommodate manufacturing paths
- Knowledge and understanding of paper and how it affects printed product
- Knowledge of Colour Management in a printing environment
- Strong conceptual thinking and ability to multitask as required
- Collaborate with a team and also work autonomously
- Good computer skills using both Mac and PC environments
- Variable Data experience a plus
- Experience with HTML and CSS a plus
**Compensation**:
This Union position provides extended health and dental benefits, as well as a pension plan. Pay is based on a 32- or 36-hour workweek, requiring shift-work as needed.
Pay: $34.59 per hour
Expected hours: 32 - 36 per week
