**Description**

We're thrilled to announce our partnership with an innovative company in Vancouver, BC, which brings a great opportunity for Drafting Technician. They create detailed technical drawings and plans used in the construction, manufacturing, or engineering fields. These drawings serve as blueprints for constructing various structures, machinery, or products. The job requires a combination of technical knowledge, precision, and proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Create detailed technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and plans using CAD software.
- Interpret and convert specifications, sketches, and rough drafts provided by engineers, architects, or designers into accurate and detailed drawings.
- Revise drawings and plans based on changes, feedback, or new information provided by project leads or clients.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure drawings are accurate and meet project requirements.
- Maintain and update a library of design documents and drawings.
- Ensure that drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and company policies.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to identify and correct errors or discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and material lists based on drawings and specifications.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in drafting techniques and CAD software.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience in a specific industry such as architectural drafting, mechanical drafting, or civil engineering drafting.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software and techniques.
- Experience with project management software and processes.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for civil drafting roles.
- 3-4 years of related experience, in addition to completing a college or industry drafting course.

**Requirements**:

- Associate's degree or certification in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings.
- Good understanding of engineering principles, building codes, and industry standards.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and other team members.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Problem-solving skills to address design challenges and implement modifications as needed.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, construction methods, or engineering systems (depending on the industry).

**Work Environment**:

- Typically work in an office environment using a computer and CAD software.
- May occasionally visit construction sites or manufacturing facilities to take measurements or observe project progress.
- Standard full-time hours, with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.

Pay: $30.08-$35.93 per hour
