Heavy Equipment Fleet Maintenance Manager

**Position Summary & Responsibilities**:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for scheduling and supervision of fleet maintenance repairs to ensure maximum fleet availability. This position contributes to the overall efficiency and productivity of our heavy equipment, asphalt manufacturing and aggregate processing operations through effective preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance programs.
**Essential Job Results**:
Ensure Environmental and Health & Safety standards are met by:
- Promoting and supporting company programs, policies, and practices; ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained; conducting workplace inspections, incident investigation, safe work training; providing supporting documentation and reporting as required.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Ensure all fleet equipment vehicles are in a safe state.
Co-ordinate and monitor:
- Preventative maintenance, major repairs, daily running repair issues and maintain the availability by scheduling repairs in accordance with established budget and production demands.
- Monitor the work activities of all shop personnel under his/her supervision by daily communication and onsite visits.
Maintains Shop staff performance objectives by:
- Providing direction, support, and disciplining employees; answering grievances, planning, monitoring and appraising performance objectives.
Other Related Experience and Skills Required or Preferred:
- Ability to analyze maintenance problems quickly and make prompt, sound decisions using good judgement.
- Previous supervisory experience would be an asset.
- Computer proficiency would be an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver license is required, Valid Class 3 would be an asset.
Educational Criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience in relevant fields required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a crew of up to 5 mechanics and apprentices.
- Maintain a fleet maintenance management program.
- Communicate and maintain relationships with several suppliers.
- Communicate with Crew Foremen to ensure all maintenance and repairs are completed as required.
- Assist mechanics as required to ensure all maintenance and repairs are completed as required.
- Track and schedule maintenance for a fleet of mobile earth moving and paving equipment.
- Inspect mobile equipment for defects or required repairs.
- Review operator pre-use inspections to determine and schedule required repairs.
Work Environment:
The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Manager may work in various weather conditions. They may be exposed to unpleasant sights and smells, such as exhaust fumes, gasoline, diesel fuel and other dangerous and/or toxic substances or chemicals. Working around moving parts/objects, vehicles, machinery and moving parts.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk, hear, listen, sit and stand.
- Continuously riding in a vehicle, walking, standing, sitting, climbing, carrying, stooping, bending kneeling, reaching, lifting, grasping/gripping, and pushing/pulling.
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed and maintain steady work pace.
**Salary**: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
