**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
Based in Timmins, ON, with rotations at the Detour Lake Mine, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a** Geology Superintendent **to join our Geology team reporting to the Technical Services Manager.

The **Geology Superintendent **will plan, lead and manage the Geology team to support the operation through the delivery of industry best practices on geological services to achieve mining production targets.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing leadership and technical review, support, and supervision to the Detour Lake Mine Production Geology team;
- Responsible for Grade Control of the Detour Lake Mine;
- Over-sight of in-pit ore production and reporting, including detailed geological reconciliation of the mine to mill production results;
- Support / supervision of In-pit geological mapping and data analysis for both grade control modeling and geotechnical evaluation;
- Aligning geology outputs to requirements of the medium and long-term strategic mine plans;
- Review and supervision of planning, design, and implementation of all grade control drilling programs at the Detour Lake pit;
- Assisting with the evaluation, construction and verification of the grade control model;
- Ensuring geological datasets are collected and maintained at industry standard best practices by monitoring and evaluating those datasets in relation to the Corporation’s established QAQC programs;
- Supports, collaborates, coordinates, and/or supervises geological and inter-disciplinary projects along with consultants and internal partners such as Exploration, Mine Planning, Mine Operations and Milling;
- Ensuring all mine geology department activities are in compliance with Corporate health and safety policies and Ontario legislation;
- Follow defined practices to assure quality, safety, and housekeeping standards;
- Other geology-related duties or special projects as may be assigned from time-to-time.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology;
- 8 to 15 years’ experience in production geology, with preference to gold;
- 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity at an operating mine preferred;
- Experience in open pit operations with a preference to large scale operations;
- Experience in utilizing geological modelling and grade estimation software, with preference to Datamine Studio RM or Maptek Vulcan;
- A detailed understanding of the effective use and interpretation of a wide variety of geological data sets and of world-class geological, grade control, and mining techniques;
- Excellent computer, analytical, and organizational skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to effectively coach and mentor staff, to develop and implement professional development programs for young professionals.
