**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
**Major Responsibilities**:

- Collaborates with the project team to ensure compliance with plan design, health and safety and other regulatory requirements
- Safely operates and maintains arboricultural equipment
- Completes site documentation to support project/programs including but not limited to on-site implementation, progress tracking, safety, cost ledgers, and other site related record keeping
- Leads staff with the technical aspects and training of field aboricultural, tree hazard and tree felling practices and approaches
- Meets with internal and external stakeholders as required for project specific collaboration
- Reports on any projected variances from schedules and budgets; proposes potential mitigation to supervisor or project manager as appropriate
- Schedules the maintenance of assigned equipment, collaborating with Fleet and Equipment as required
- Participates in daily safety meetings including tailgate meetings, hazard identification and emergency planning

**What will you need to succeed**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, or a related field
- Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture or equivalent
- Valid Chainsaw Training Certificate
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license
- 2.5+ years of experience in aboriculture, forestry, forest management, tree hazard management, or forest stewardship/woodlot management
- Understanding of arboriculture tree climbing skills and aerial rescue techniques
- Demonstrated high level of technical ability in the safe operation and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment related to Arboricultural Services, in particular as primary climber and rescue climbing
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise communication in both non-emergency and emergency situations
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems in a timely manner, seeking the appropriate level of support to solve issues
- Knowledge of best management practices, and up-to-date knowledge of mitigation and controls, as well as safe work procedures
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, related Regulations and legislation
