Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Engineer to join our team. As a Senior System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our systems infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Creating machine learning models and utilizing data to train them
- Analyzing data to identify relationships between inputs and outputs
- Understanding business objectives and developing models to achieve them
- Designing and developing machine learning and deep learning systems
- Running machine learning tests and experiments
- Implementing appropriate machine learning algorithms
- Managing available resources such as hardware, data, and personnel
- Analyzing machine learning algorithms and ranking them by success probability
- Exploring and visualizing data to gain understanding and identify differences in data distribution
- Verifying data quality and ensuring it via data cleaning
- Supervising data acquisition process if more data is needed
- Finding available datasets online for training
- Defining validation strategies and preprocessing or feature engineering for datasets
- Having a background in statistics and computer programming
- Being a team player with a track record for meeting deadlines and managing priorities
**Skill requirements include**:
- Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms
- Expertise in NLP techniques and models, especially BERT and transformer-based models
- Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Proficiency in text preprocessing, tokenization, and word embeddings
- Strong programming skills in Python, including libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn
- Skills in model optimization and tuning, including hyperparameter tuning
- Understanding of transfer learning and how to adapt pre-trained models like BERT for specific tasks.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
**Salary**: $55.00-$70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
**Education**:
- DCS / DEC (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Natural Language Processing: 5 years (required)
- Machine learning: 8 years (required)
