**Salary**: $20/hour, with compensation for cost of activities

About Us: Our son is 18 years old and graduating from Grimshaw Public School. He has

moderate learning disabilities and ADHD, which impact his communication skills.

He is a happy young man, who enjoys the outdoors, video games, and going for

walks.

About the Role: The goal of a part time/full time position is to provide companionship,

guidance and support to our son in terms of transitioning into adulthood.

Priorities would be in the areas of life skills, activities of daily living, job

skills, social interactions and being physically active. A weekly schedule

would be ideal, with different activities each day.

Casual positions would be more focused on doing a couple of activities per week for enjoyment.

**Responsibilities**:

- To get involved in the community and promote social interactions by attending community events or activities.
- Plan excursions to various places in the area, for example, visit a farm, go to the library or museum.
- Provide support with everyday life skills, with a goal of being able to complete tasks independently, for example, grocery shopping, yard work.
- To be physically active plan a schedule for regular exercise.
- Coordinate job opportunities, for example, set up volunteer job positions and provide supervision.
- Provide some opportunities to continue basic education, such as setting aside time for reading and basic writing/math skills.

- Current Criminal Record and Child and Family Services Vulnerable Sector Check

Part-time hours: 1-20 per week

**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour
