**COMPANY OVERVIEW**

The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.

Alberta Central is the central banking facility, service bureau and trade association for Alberta’s credit unions and one of the centrals that owns the PPJV. Beyond being an owner of the PPJV, Alberta Central also plays a key role in PPJV’s operational success by acting as a shared services provider, offering support in areas including communications, risk management, and compliance, amongst others.

**ROLE SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this role is expected to provide trusted advice to the senior management on all budgets and forecasts. The position will collaborate closely with the Corporate Controller Group to create and enhance value-added analysis on both the financial performance and outlook for PPJV. They will liaise with internal partners to contribute to PPJV financial strategy, business planning, and internal finance control. As well as be quarterbacking of business creation, iteration, and approval.

As we are a central department, impacted or required by most other corporate initiatives, with a new strategic plan and new initiatives coming on line, this role is essential to the execution of our business plan and the overall efficiency of PPJV finance group.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Lead and manage the financial planning and analysis function, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of all financial reporting and analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reports to support business decision-making and planning.
- Analyze financial results and provide insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate across PPJV, Centrals and key partners to ensure alignment of financial planning and analysis with overall business objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the financial planning and analysis team, including coaching, mentoring, and development of team members.
- Develop resource plans based on funding, working with PPJV leadership to meet or exceed targets, (e.g. year over year savings); ensure all purchases are correctly funded and approved.
- Liaise with the Controller group to ensure consistency in forecasting and budgeting; maintain up-to-date tracking of approved budgets; communicate on a regular basis to the leadership, ensuring that proposed purchases are reviewed, and funding gaps are identified and resolved.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Completion of a university bachelor program in finance, accounting, or related area.
- CPA designation preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles with history of increasing responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using Excel and other financial software tools.
- Must be bondable.
