Overview
PortfolioAid is looking for skilled Automation Quality Assurance Analyst with proven experience to manage medium to large-sized projects deploying PortfolioAid’s suite of RegTech and WealthTech software solutions. Servicing Canada’s leading wealth management firms, PortfolioAid is looking for industry professionals that want to help PortfolioAid achieve its goal of protecting the financial freedom of every Canadian investor.
Principal duties of the job
**Software Testing**:
- Design and execute automated integration, component, and UI tests within existing automation frameworks which validate the functionality and quality of products and reduce manual testing work.
- Develop existing automation frameworks enhancements
- Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or defect retests, or usability.
- Document software defects, using a defect tracking system, and report defects to software developers and project team.
- Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
- Monitor defect resolution efforts and track successes
- Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
- Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
- Participate in product design reviews, providing input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
- Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks
- Work in an agile team of quality assurance analysts, developers, business analysts and project managers to ensure timely releases of high quality code
- Achieve a service-focused culture with emphasis on delivering on-time, high-quality products and services to internal and external customers.
This role reports to the Manager, QA & Client Services.
Essential Qualifications
- Ability to independently analyze extensive data, identify discrepancies and inconsistencies and recommend a course of corrective action
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to design, write, test and document efficient testing solutions to meet customer needs
- Ability to change process execution during product line testing
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and good judgment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide variety of individuals
- Ability to represent the company in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team
- Strong knowledge of programming skills in Java and Selenium WebDriver tools
- Knowledge of XML, Perl and Shell
- Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of MS office suite of products
- Experience in a client-server environment
- Experience and knowledge of software testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Agile development methodology
- University degree or community college diploma in a related field such as computer science/Information Technology
- Bilingual (French and English) an asset
