**JOB SUMMARY**

The Material Handler (Water Spider) is responsible for working closely with, supporting, and assisting the Production and Warehouse Managers/Supervisors in all areas of the warehouse and production as needed. Primary responsibility for this position will be to ensure SMT part supply and that production does not go down on part exhaust. The incumbent will support “parts out” on the line out analysis, ensure MSD labels are supplied, label short strip parts to prevent mixed and part missing issues. Position will support production operations so that others may maximize their time in value-adding work. Delivering, staging, and removing parts and supplies from production cells to enable a continuous production flow are also part of this role. The Water Spider (material handler) must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse operations. The Water Spider (material handler) is responsible for assuring all the parts are kitted and verified before the kit is supplied to Production. This position reports directly to the Production Analytics Associate Project Manager.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Coordinate the movement of materials from warehouse to production and back in the right amount, at the right time, in the right place, and in accordance with packaging and handling requirements
- Check kits for accuracy to BOMs and to assemblies
- Use efficient work processes and follow standard work in the performance of daily routines
- Responsible for supplying assigned production areas with materials for manufacturing, as to not interrupt the production process, and handling documents necessary for accurate inventory transactions
- Maintain workplace organization regarding meeting materials, parts and supplies needs of production personnel
- Work as part of the manufacturing team to assist in meeting deadlines and critical priorities
- Work with inventory control staff for monitoring, maintaining, and organizing inventory levels. This includes storage of raw material, work in process, finished goods and supplies
- Help resolve inventory discrepancies and support efficiencies in material movements
- Responsible for putting inventory in its designated areas in an organized, timely, and efficient manner
- Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory and count of materials in all warehouse locations
- Effectively communicate with personnel in other departments to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
- Generate and manage daily cycle counts based on system
- Investigate variances and do advanced root cause analysis
- Research negative inventory balances, submit BOM corrections, and make adjustments when authorized
- Report all issues to QC and Supervisor and ensure housekeeping is always maintained
- Handle and store materials/boards using ESD guidelines
- Ensure quality standards are maintained all through the production
- Position may involve physical demands such as lifting of heavy objects
- Perform any other relevant tasks to help any other area in production and warehouse
- **Warehouse Duties**:_
- Prepare kits of components for production using the automated Juki solution (electronic scanning program)
- Ensure correct manufacturer of various components are kitted as required for specific customer’s kits
- Notify program managers and buyers of kitting discrepancies
- Ensure correct count of components kitted
- Issue allocations to jobs as required
- Ensure components are properly packaged in kit according to ESD handling practices
- Inform Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager if any inventory adjustment is needed
- Other warehouse or related tasks as required
- **General Duties**:_
- Maintain and upkeep work area within 5S requirements (i.e., ensure area is clean, maintained and always organized)
- During down times or quiet times, the Water Spider (material handler) is responsible for ensuring all areas of the warehouse are clean, maintained and organized, and will help other warehouse areas as needed

**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**
- High School Diploma
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Certificate or Diploma in Electronics or enrolled in a technical school would be an asset
- Good work habits and housekeeping
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong team player skills, with a willingness to assist and support others within the team and outside the team as business needs dictate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle last minute requests
- Ability to communicate and report on key quality, output data and possible improvements to Process Engineer
- May be requested to work overtime or weekends under special circumstances

**LOCATION**
- The position location is based in Markham, Ontario facilities (Building A and/or Building B).
- Incumbent must be open to working at both facilities as business and operational needs dictate.
