**AutoPlanet Durham** is looking for a **Service Apprentice** to join their dynamic team

**Here’s what you’ll deliver**:
- Assist the Service Technician with performing service to engine systems such as diagnosing, troubleshooting, verifying and repairing cooling systems, cylinder heads, engine block assemblies and components.
- Provide support in diagnosing, troubleshooting, servicing electrical and engine management systems such as boosting/charging batteries, and repairing starting and charging systems and components.
- Provide support with fuel delivery and transmission systems such as inspecting, diagnosing and repairing gasoline fuel systems, clutch systems, manual and automatic transmissions or transaxles, computer-controlled systems and components.
- Support with inspecting, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing drive shafts, differentials and drive axle assemblies, suspension systems and frames, steering and braking systems, tires, wheels, rims and hubs.
- Assist with heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, vehicle body and trim and exhaust, intake and emission control systems.
- Ensure that customer cars are kept as clean or cleaner than when they arrived, both inside and out.
- Prioritize maintaining the cleanliness of the shop area at all times.
- Clean bay and bench at the end of each shift.
- Dispose of garbage, recycling, etc., as required.
- Ability to work in adherence to company safety standards at all times.
- Comply with all company policies, standards and procedures.
- Other duties as required by management.
**You champion success with these accomplishments**:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 1st year or higher apprentice
- Minimum 2 years work experience in an automotive dealership.
- Currently registered with Ontario College of Trades.
- Capable of working in a collaborative environment while providing a positive attitude.
- Desire to continue schooling and training.
- Ability to execute tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest.
- Follows dealership and manufacturer service guidelines.
- Proven knowledge and experience with automotive mechanical operations.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Ability to utilize power tools while maintaining safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule.
