Powder Coater

Sur Equipment Ltd. is a small business based in Manitoba. We're located just outside of Winnipeg's city limits, north of Transcona. We specialize in cleaning and powder coating industrial parts and equipment.

We're currently looking for an experienced Powder Coater. This position is available immediately.

In this position, you will prepare various metal parts and components for powder coating by masking them if required, and then hanging them. You will then powder coat the parts and inspect them to confirm coverage and quality, and do touch-ups if necessary. We also sandblast parts before powder coating them, so if you have sandblasting experience as well, that would be an asset.

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts as needed.

**Duties**:

- Prepare metal parts and components for powder coating by masking (if required) and hanging them
- Move parts to and from the sandblasting area with a forklift
- Monitor and adjust coating parameters to achieve desired results
- Inspect finished products for quality and make any necessary touch-ups or rework
- Prepare parts to be shipped on pallets using plastic wrap, cardboard, and/or strapping
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines

Qualifications:

- Experience in powder coating or related field
- Experience with sandblasting would be an asset
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
- Ability to lift heavy metal parts
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must have own transportation to and from work

**Salary**: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week

**Experience**:

- industrial powder coating: 1 year (required)
- sandblasting: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Certificate (preferred)
