As the General Manager at Yolks Hastings you will be responsible for the day to day, week to week, month to month and year to year operations of the restaurant. The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Writing and managing the schedule including hiring, training, reviewing, reprimanding and managing FOH staff while working with the kitchen managers to assist in maintaining an efficient weekly roster.
- Following, meeting or exceeding budgetary targets set by the company. Specifically (but not limited to) following and maintaining labor targets at the restaurant which will include regularly reviewing the roster for the FOH and the kitchen, adding and cutting staff as per sales levels and keeping track daily, weekly and monthly to insure targets and budgets are met.
- Monthly inventory count and inventory spreadsheet maintenance.
- Weekly meetings with managers and monthly meetings with staff.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and state of repair of the restaurant.
- Being proactive in improving operations and procedures within the restaurant.
- Offering and maintaining the highest level of service to our guests.
- Hitting and maintaining sales targets by following and improving on our service efficiencies.
- Maintaining and improving on our community reputation by exceeding customer expectations and going above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience for all of our guests.
- Maintaining and updating of our Point of Sale system.
- Monitoring and enforcing our cleaning company's scope of work to insure that the restaurant is clean and well maintained at all times.
- Filing a weekly report to the owner to update on operations.
- Writing a brief weekly newsletter to all staff to keep them engaged and up to date on operations and company news.
- Updating our sandwich and special boards daily with drink and food specials.
- Maintaining regular communication with other location managers.
- Attending biweekly meetings with the owner and the kitchen manager.
- Maintaining and managing inventory to minimize waste and improve profitability.
- Placing weekly liquor orders and managing liquor inventory.

Experience
- 3 years of experience as a General Manager or similar role
- Minimum 10 years experience in hospitality
- Comprehensive food and beverage knowledge
- Computer literacy
- Familiarity with restaurant management software (Touch Bistro POS/Moneris/Neo etc) and/or the ability to learn new systems
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
- Good financial management skills
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with budgets and operating within them
