Provisions Coordinator

**Reporting to the Program Director **the Provisions Coordinator is responsible for provisioning sailing, sea kayak and wilderness expeditions and frequent lunch and dinner catering for groups of up to 20 youth and staff. Duties include: menu and nutrition planning for expeditions, pre-season ordering, purchasing and grocery runs, packing and cleaning for each trip, catering pre and post trip meals, general boathouse maintenance and assisting the course instructors with various other preparations. The Provisions Coordinator will be responsible for managing a budget and working with the Sea School’s provisions manual and google documents. The Coordinator will endeavor to source local foods and supplies as much as possible. The Coordinator will work closely with the course instructors but must be able to also work efficiently independently.

**Job Priorities**
- Purchasing and packing food provisions for expedition menus.
- Preparing and serving lunch and dinner menus for groups up to 20 on arrival and departure days as well as training and / group programs.
- Maintaining boathouse and kitchen cleanliness.
- Managing program/ work flow - Ensure provisions are on schedule and deadlines are adhered to.
- Coordinate and liaise with fellow staff, participants, parents, field staff, schedules.
- Prepare information required for trips including menus and accommodations for food sensitivities.
- Ensure all staff are “in the loop” on all necessary aspects of provisions.
- Act as a resource to the program, field staff and participants.
- Maintain procedures manual, google folders, budget and receipts.
- Inform senior staff of risk and act on areas of risk within position scope.
- A strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Self-discipline, as well as an ability to be organized, resourceful, patient and meticulous.
- Comfortable with supervising teenagers.
- Experience working with youth or outdoor programs is an asset.
- Prepared to work weekends, evenings and up to 12 hour days. Time in lieu will be granted.
- Prepared to be ‘on call’ 24 hours / day for a minimum of 7 days in July / August.
- Hold a valid driver's license and have access to your own vehicle. Mileage is compensated.
- Holding a Standard First Aid and CPR certificate is an asset.
- Experience with Google Documents (Excel, Word) is an asset.
- All Sea School Staff are required to work with the Sea School Office to obtain a Vulnerable Sectors / Criminal Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
