**Job Summary**

The Shipper is primarily responsible for the coordination of shipments leaving the facility by either the driver, courier or customer pickup while properly documenting all movement of product using

PACE. The Shipper ensures all delivery deadlines are met and the logistics production runs smoothly. This individual keeps track of incoming and outgoing product and materials. The shipper is also responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the shipping area assuring that all product is moved from one area to another in a timely manner while maintaining a safe working environment by keeping product out of active travel routes. The shipper will also work closely with the receiver assisting with any incoming shipments past the receiver’s shift end as well as having a general understanding of the days to day operations of the receiving department. The Shipper has excellent written and verbal communication skills and consults regularly with CSR’s, vendors, and purchaser.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Create detailed packing and delivery slips through PACE
- Sign off all deliveries in PACE: Ensure all departments have signed off jobs in accordance to PACE; Ensure all job identifying information and sign offs are complete before processing; Send all incomplete job information back to CSR
- Schedule all transportation: Arrange courier shipments with trucking companies, UPS, and other couriers as required including documentation such as labels and bill of lading; Ensures the most efficient and cost-effective modes of shipping are applied
- Organize, shrink wrap and band all outgoing shipments: Ensure skids are properly stacked and labeled according to routing guide; Pull and file samples from all customer

- Assist in the coordination of outsourcing: Create and ensure complete vendor information packet, and purchase order and sample product are attached with the outsourcing job to be delivered; Document on PACE “AT VENDOR” once shipment has been delivered; Communicates consistently with VP Operations and Purchasing Coordinator with respect to all jobs ready for delivery to customer or vendor
- Schedule drivers: Organize and create the most efficient driver routes for the following day; Coordinates with Logistics Manager and drivers to arrange for local pickups/deliveries; Assist with the loading of delivery trucks; Perform emergency delivery runs as needed to customers and vendors
- Ensure mailing jobs are delivered: Sign off on all mail jobs, give mail to driver and ensure delivery to Canada Post daily
- Management of shipping area: Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly space of shipping area floor and bindery staging areas for jobs ready to be delivered; Ensure that all HACCP requirements are met with the flow of raw materials into the facility and the flow of finished goods out of the facility
- Assist Receiver with all receiving job responsibilities past 4pm: Unload trucks; Compare and identify information and count items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, packing lists, orders, etc.; Maintain and organize inventory in warehouse; Manage storage of inventory between warehouse and storage facilities
- Attends daily production meeting: Communicates current daily volume in shipping; Communicates concerns related to shipping, receiving, and outsourcing; Inquire, prepare and be proactive for the shipment of current jobs in production
- Provide in a timely manner all shipping quotes and affiliated information to departments
- Follow up with all orders to ensure they are shipped timely once through production
- File all signed delivery slips in appropriate locations
- Take initiative to review and make recommendations for process efficiency

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- High school or equivalent
- Experience in shipping and receiving and knowledge of a printing environment preferred
- Knowledge in Microsoft Excel / Word / Outlook, PACE
- Forklift/pump truck certifications
- Excellent organizational skills to accomplish work by established deadlines and ability to coordinate phases of work with others
- Take initiative to meet timely demands and multitask
- Good time management skills and attention to detail to effectively meet client expectations/priorities
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team; exceptional communication skills
