Princeton, Canada Sandhill Materials Inc. Full time

Arthon Constructors Corp (ACC) is the full-service heavy civil general contracting division of Arthon’s group of companies which includes Sandhill Materials Inc (SMI), and Sandhill Equipment Corp (SEC). The success of Arthon’s group of companies is derived from our dedicated team members & leadership team, extensive equipment fleet, and rigorous Health & Safety program. Arthon has extensive experience in mining, heavy civil construction, drilling & blasting, aggregate production, road building, and more.

Arthon is looking for a Labourer for a project at the Basin Mine near Coalmont, BC. The project scope at the mine consists of excavating coal to the plant, loading coal into haul/transport trucks, hauling waste away from the plant, and overall management of the mine site.

This project is scheduled to run from July 2023 to October (weather dependent). The Labourer can expect to work 10+ hour days, 7-days-on, 7-days-off. Rotation schedule may change depending on project needs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**ASSETS**
- Previous labourer experience
- First aid and/or other safety-related certifications
- Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

1) Labour - Load, unload, and move materials to work areas. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, and barricades required around site. Assist heavy equipment operators to secure specials attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment, and assist in other activities. Assist in aligning pipes and perform related activities. Assist miners in excavating and in setting up and operating various mining machinery. Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel. Remove rubble and cleanup other debris on site and around the coal plant using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, fire hoses, etc. Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed. Tend or feed machines or equipment such as mixers, compressors, and pumps. Oil and grease or assist with minor repairs and maintenance.

2) Standard Corporate Responsibilities - Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain the stability and reputation of the organization by complying with legal requirements. Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish the job results. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Be conversant with relevant sections of the Safety Manual. Understand WorkSafeBC acts and regulations, as well as the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC.
