We are currently looking for a qualified **HR Generalist,** for our Georgetown, Ontario facility. Work is 39 hours on-site

Reporting to the Canadian HR Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for a range of duties supporting the local management team and Canadian leadership on various HR issues, as well as some aspects of our Health, Safety and Environmental programs. Some of the duties consist of; capturing and processing hours for payroll, being the liaison for handling and managing employee questions for benefits and pensions, compensation, performance management, labor relations, recruitment & orientation, organizational development, compliance and metrics as well as other HR programs. The ideal individual will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively with others.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Manage day to day operations of Human Resources
- Act as first point of contact for employee relations issues and provide proactive advice to the leadership team.
- Provide guidance to employees regarding human resources related matters, policies & procedures.
- Manage the recruitment process: post jobs, screen applicants, facilitate interviews, proceed with approved job offers and carry out on-boarding and orientation.
- Coordinate local payroll activities.
- Prepare various HR metrics to support business objectives.
- Stay current and ensure compliance to all applicable legislation including The Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code and the Employment Standards Act.
- Provide and/or facilitate training as required and carry-out all activities related to the employee engagement survey.
- Manage Non-Occupational and Occupational Disability Management (WSIB) and return to work planning.
- Plan and organize staff events and activities, as needed.

**Education & overall qualifications**
- Bachelor’s or Collegiate degree in HR, Business Administration or other discipline with a diploma in HR is required.
- CHRP/CHRL (desirable).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Good communication skills (written and spoken), sound judgement and a capacity to adapt to a fast paced environment.
- Relevant knowledge of many aspects of the HR profession.
- Experience or knowledge of the Kronos time and attendance system will be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing sectors is preferred as well as interest or prior experience in Health, Safety and Environmental will be considered assets.
- Good knowledge of Ontario Legislation: Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Legislation.
- Ability to deal with people in a respectful manner, with empathy and professionalism at all times.
- Ability to work efficiently as a part of a team, as well as independently.
- Good judgement and decision making ability.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize workload and deploy as needed to reach and surpass objectives.
- Any knowledge of French (written and/or spoken) will be considered an asset.

Part-time hours: 39 per week
