Dementia Health Care Aide

Adokam Home Care is dedicated to providing compassionate, professional, and personalized care to individuals in the comfort of their own homes. We are currently seeking a reliable, experienced, and empathetic Dementia Caregiver to join our team and support clients living with dementia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and medication reminders.
- Assist with light housekeeping and errands as needed.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that stimulate cognitive and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a safe and calm environment to minimize confusion or anxiety.
- Monitor and report changes in the client’s condition to family members or supervisors.
- Demonstrate patience, understanding, and kindness in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in dementia or Alzheimer’s care is required.
- Certification in Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker, or related field is an asset.
- Knowledge of dementia care strategies and techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation (having a car is preferred).
- Ability to work independently and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
