The **_Parts Apprentice_** will be responsible for ensuring Amalgamated Mining Services Ltd. (“AMS”) parts sales delivery practices add value to AMS's business. This is accomplished by partnering and working collaboratively with key stakeholders (external and internal) to maximize profit by up-selling or cross-selling.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work under direction and supervision of the Parts Supervisor
- Liaise with and support the AMS parts teams and customers to ensure sales opportunities are aggressively followed up.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of product lines.
- Issue purchase orders to external suppliers
- Enter quotations into computer system, create order confirmations, complete customer sales orders.
- Excellence in customer service and proving solutions to customers.
- Help maintain accurate inventory based on customer's history.
- Locate parts using our computer system.
- Searches through catalogue descriptions to determine product specifications and alternatives to meet customer's needs. Ensures material request is available in stock, otherwise offers suggestion on alternative sourcing of items. Confirms selected products with the customer to ensure accuracy and completeness of the order.
- Prepare documentation and inventory for audits.
- Shipper/receiver duties
- Local parts pickup
- Assist with physical inventory counts.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED certificate equivalency
- Valid Drivers license.
- In good physical health with the ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills, and experience with CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong Customer service skills

**Working Conditions**
- This position works on the AMS Parts team. The working conditions include:

- Position will be required to comply with customer's Safety, Drug and Alcohol polices while on site.
