The Bell Media team creates and delivers the best Canadian and international content across our digital media, television, radio, and out-of-home advertising platforms. We’re looking for innovative team players ready to take some of the most well-known entertainment brands in the country to the next level.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Write compelling, clear, concise news scripts under tight deadlines
- Write stories according to station policies, editorial style and rundown
- Research and evaluate news stories and sources
- Update news stories as stories develop
- Work as part of a team
- Write scripts and add production (video, clips and graphics)
- Coordinate video editing of news stories
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be available to work weekends, early/late shifts
**Critical Qualifications**:
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of political, domestic, international news and current affairs.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Word and iNews.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to create clear, compelling, concise news stories from raw materials including: unedited video, reporter notes, desk notes, telephone interviews, wire copy, turn-around live news conferences
- Writing style
- Familiarity with video editing systems
- Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to breaking news
- Demonstrated ability to originate coverage on developing stories.
- Experience selecting video to tell stories.
