**Job Objectives**:

The Purchaser - Painted Parts is a key member of the Supply Chain Team, whose main responsibility is to ensure the painted parts flow is running smoothly on time, and in good quality. This includes purchasing of raw parts and subcontracting paint services, movement of parts to paint vendors, the return of painted parts, and inventory. The Purchaser -Painted Parts works with QA to ensure timely inspection of painted materials. A seamless flow of parts to the production floor ensures the on-time delivery of quality units that meet our customers’ high expectations.

- **External Contacts**: Part Suppliers, Paint Vendors, Transport

**Key Responsibility Areas**:
**Parts Coordination**
- Plan, schedule, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the supply of raw and painted parts internally and externally with our vendors.
- Prepare and plan paint and delivery orders from initiation to completion.
- Coordinate the picking, issuing and shipping of raw materials to sub-contract paint vendors.
- Manage logistics including booking drivers to pick up and/or deliver between venues.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure products are sourced, produced, inspected and delivered to the production floor.
- Work closely with internal customers and external vendors to ensure schedules and quality requirements are maintained.

**Purchasing**
- Maintain strong supplier/vendor relationships.
- Prepare purchase orders with qualified suppliers, for raw materials and paint services.
- Work collaboratively with the other members of the procurement team on purchasing initiatives.
- Ensure the procurement process is being followed and maintain the integrity of all transactions.

**Administrative Duties**
- Initiate, modify and complete Job records in Epicor software, ensuring accurate and timely records are maintained throughout the process.
- Maintain consistent schedule control, logistics planning, job maintenance and tracking of painted parts.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating schedules and requirements with all personnel and external vendors involved in this complex area.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- Completion of Grade 12.
- Education or Certification in Purchasing is an asset.

**Experience**
- Experience in a manufacturing operation is preferred.
- Previous exposure to procurement and materials control processes.

**Competencies (skills, abilities, knowledge)**:
**Computer Skills**
- Functions at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with EPICOR or another ERP would be an asset.

**Abilities**
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
- Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking skills
- Results-oriented focus: able to plan daily work amid multiple projects, competing priorities, tight schedules, and time-sensitive demands.
- Able to develop and follow prescribed processes and to suggest improvements when appropriate.

**Working Conditions**:

- Most daily work will be in the office, using Epicor and other digital resources.
- Awareness and attention to ergonomics will be required and assistance will be provided.
- Time spent in the manufacturing area will require use of Personal Protective Equipment. CSA-certified safety footwear is required; all other PPE will be provided.
