**Job Summary**:
The Physical Security Analyst (PSA) will be responsible for overseeing all guard post activities and security issues, including personnel management, related to all facilities in their region in accordance with policies and standards established for the Service by the Internal Security (IS) Branch.

Major responsibilities:

- With support from the Chief IS, manage the Region’s guard posts, supervising Commissionaires and/or Protective Services Officers (PSO), and ensuring they are trained on all Regional and District security systems and related procedures.
- Understand the interconnected functionality of Regional and District systems pertaining to physical security and life-safety, identify problems with them and propose solutions where feasible (E.g. the Security Management System, its video surveillance cameras and fire alarm systems).
- Plan, support, and review Security Threat and Security Administrative Reviews for Regional CSIS facilities to ensure the safeguards are sufficient and that adequate defensive measures are in place to protect Service employees and assets.
- Implement and ensure compliance of Regional security policies, procedures and measures in accordance with the Government Security Policy and Standards, and provide recommendations on implementation.
- Liaise with Headquarters, Regional and community counterparts in relation to security systems, techniques and events.
- Conduct interviews of employees and contractors, as required, pertaining to physical security matters; submit written reports including facts, analysis and assessments.
- Support and participate in major capital construction and infrastructure projects for the Region to ensure Service facilities continue to meet operational expectations for security by coordinating/advising and consulting engineers and architects.
- In collaboration with HQ, conduct Facility Security Certifications and validate the compliance of premises used by contractors and our partners in the accreditation of external premises to ensure the protection of the Service information and assets at the sites (i.e.: ensure that the necessary safeguards are in place).
- Provide additional support as required, relating to physical security issues.

**Education**:

- Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of experience in a field associated with the conception, installation and maintenance of security systems, or
- College diploma and four (4) years of experience in a field associated with the conception, installation and maintenance of security systems.

The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.

If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service.

**Note**: Any higher level of education could be recognized as experience.

**Experience**:

- Recent* and significant** experience in interpreting and applying: safety policies and standards, as well as fire safety regulations.
- Significant** experience in researching and analyzing information and data to draw inferences in order to provide recommendations or conclusions verbally or in writing.
- Recent* experience in alarm technologies, video surveillance, intrusion detection and access control.
- Recent* experience conducting Threat & Risk Assessments linked to physical security.
- Experience working as a Physical Security representative on medium to large-scale capital projects, such as new office construction or renovation.
- Significant** experience supervising and training a team of security specialists.
- Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.

**Significant experience is defined as the extent and majority of experience of a person in a position whereby the performance of these duties constitutes their main functions in the position.

**Assets**:

- Professional certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), a Physical Security Professional (PSP), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), Wicklander-Zulawski Certificate or any other recognized certificate in the field of security.
