We are currently seeking a full-time Construction Surveyor who possesses a strong work ethic and is enthusiastic about construction. The Construction Surveyor supports daily operations with the engineering and construction teams to ensure alignment with project specifications.
Reporting to the General Superintendent, as the Construction Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring precise measurements and accurate data collection to guide the successful implementation of building elements on various projects.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the layout of concrete structures, including all embedded items.
- Provide grid line offsets and benchmarks.
- Utilize advanced surveying equipment and software to collect accurate measurements and data.
- Collaborate closely with the project teams to ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Establish and maintain project control points for accurate layout and positioning of structures and checking of the same during the project lifetime.
- Review survey data, identify discrepancies, and provide recommendations.
- Prepare survey reports, drawings, and as built drawings as part of quality control.
- Manage and coordinate with subcontractors and external subcontractors and external survey as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant surveying good practices, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Implementation of company-wide survey protocols to ensure thorough documentation of project lesson learned and offering support to newly initiated projects and staff.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
What We Are Looking For
- Recent graduate of a post-secondary program such as Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in construction layout an asset.
- Proficiency in using advanced surveying instruments and software.
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as within larger teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic construction environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality surveying results.
- Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
- Must possess valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
