Student Optician

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student optician to join our team on a part-time basis. This position is ideal for individuals currently enrolled in an opticianry program or related field, looking to gain practical experience in a clinical setting. As a student optician, you will assist our licensed opticians and optometrists in providing high-quality eyewear products and services to our patients.

**Duties**:

- Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyeglasses frames based on their prescription, face shape, and personal style preferences
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and treatments available to enhance their vision
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed to ensure optimal comfort and functionality
- Assist with contact lens fittings and provide instructions on proper insertion, removal, and care
- Collaborate with laboratory technicians to ensure timely production of eyeglasses orders
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and advancements in optical technology
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the optical area
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing inventory.

**Experience**:

- Currently enrolled in an opticianry program or related field (optometry, ophthalmology, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent customer service abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in laboratory tasks related to optical services is desirable
- Excellent sales skills with a proven track record in retail sales
- Basic knowledge of eyewear products and lens types is a plus
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends

**Job Types**: Part-time, Internship / Co-op

**Salary**: $16.55-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
