**Overview**:
The Gala Procurement Volunteer plays a vital role in Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa's fundraising efforts by sourcing and securing donations for our annual gala event. This volunteer position is essential for ensuring the success of our gala and supporting our mission to provide affordable home ownership. **Responsibilities**:

- **Procurement Strategy**: Work closely with the Gala Committee to develop a procurement strategy aligned with fundraising goals and event theme. Identify potential donors and establish contact to request contributions.
- **Donation Solicitation**: Reach out to businesses, individuals, and organizations to solicit donations for the gala. Request a variety of items, including gift certificates, products, services, and experiences that can be auctioned or raffled off during the event.
- **Relationship Building**: Cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors through personalized communication and follow-up. Provide information about the gala and the impact of their contributions on our organization's mission.
- **Donation Management**: Track all incoming donations, including details of the donor, item description, and estimated value. Organize and inventory donated items, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- **Logistics Coordination**: Collaborate with the Gala Committee and event planners to coordinate logistics related to donated items, including storage, transportation, and display at the gala venue. Ensure that all donated items are properly showcased and ready for auction or raffle.
- **Acknowledgment and Recognition**: Express gratitude to donors for their generous contributions and support. Coordinate acknowledgment efforts, including thank-you letters, recognition signage, and mentions during the gala program.
- **Post-Event Follow-Up**: Assist with post-event activities, such as sending thank-you notes to donors, providing donation receipts, and conducting a post-event evaluation to assess the effectiveness of procurement efforts.

**Qualifications**:

- Passion for our organization's mission and commitment to fundraising success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire potential donors.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in donor tracking and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Previous experience in fundraising, sales, or donor relations is preferred but not required.
