**Handyman Intern - Job Description**

**Responsibilities**
- Carry out minor carpentry work,
- Carry out minor building fabric maintenance work painting, clearing drains, etc. as instructed via the community Housing Manager
- Assist with minor small works furniture moves and porterage
- Able to assist with various light maintenance work needed such as delivering and changing toner cartridges in copy machines, hanging pictures, touch up painting, and fixing simple repairs like if toilet needs to be fixed
- Learn how to use ladders that are not deemed "Safety Ladders" which would have handrails and have a safety lock to prevent rolling or moving
- Gain experience in handy work and fixing things in the communities

**Qualifications**
- Use data analysis, wisdom, judgment, and past actions input from other sources for decision making, always considering the impact on community members
- Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers)
- In addition to tolerating a variety of conditions, you need to be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and be able to push or pull 50 pounds daily
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated heights and on roof tops
- High school diploma
- Ability to organize and schedule one's own work assignments

- 52 Weeks of paid work within 56-weeks Work Term_
