**Duties include**:

- Assist in maintaining Town owned roads, boulevards, sidewalks, facilities and other municipal infrastructure;
- Construction, maintenance, and operation of the Town’s water, sewer, and storm infrastructure;
- Airport duties including daily checks, maintenance and clean up;
- Operate various Town vehicles and equipment such as pickups, backhoe, tractors, mowers, and trimmers;
- Garbage collection;
- Set up/take down and other general labourer duties for special events;
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Required qualifications include**:

- Completion of Grade 12;
- A demonstrated aptitude for maintenance and construction work, and experience with equipment and power tools;
- Physical capability to safely complete continuous manual labour (e.g., bending, shoveling, lifting, pushing/pulling, etc.) in all weather conditions;
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a safe driving record;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, particularly when dealing with the public;
- Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team as well as independently;
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations with a proven track record of working safely;
- Previous experience working in municipal government settings will be considered an asset.

Additional qualifications that would be considered an asset include:

- Airbrake Certification
- Class III driver’s license

The terms and conditions of employment are covered by the CUPE Local 401 Collective Agreement. The rate of pay is $26.13/hr. Successful applicants will be expected to work 40 hours/week and shifts will include both weekend days.
