We are seeking **two (2) - Heavy Equipment Operators/Class 1A Driver **to support project opportunities with Neetah Construction This position will be site based (within Saskatchewan), however, the office headquarters is located in Regina, SK. You will be joining a team of recognized industry experts to help execute work that is critical to our clients and our communities.
**Job Title**:Heavy Equipment Operator/Class 1A Driver
**Job Summary**:The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, rollers, graders, skid steer, backhoe loaders and other related equipment) used in the construction and maintenance of **roads and highways**, as well as material handling activities. Promotes the safe use of this equipment and helps transport them to and from the job site. The Class 1A driver is responsible for the mobilization of all Heavy Duty Equipment from one site to the next, in accordance to Provincial Highway protocols
**Scope of Responsibilities**:
- Promote the safe use of equipment, by performing daily pre and post operation inspections, preventive maintenance and reporting needed repairs/maintenance work to supervisor.
- Transport equipment by safely loading equipment on trailers and driving to various job sites.
- Maintain Asphalt surfaces including; Street maintenance, pothole repairs, chip sealing and crack sealing.
- Operate small equipment; Jump jacks, chainsaws, and weed eaters, as needed.
- Temporarily acting in a higher capacity when needed by directing helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, volunteers, or temporary employees, as necessary.
- Actively participate and promote safety related meetings which may include daily toolbox meetings and hazard assessment meetings.
- Understand and comply with Company policies, procedures and safety requirements, as well as the client’s policies.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience in Road construction, Maintenance work, Culvert repair and installation.
- Willing, and able to work away from home for lengthy periods of time on different projects.
- Willing, and able to work long hours, Overtime and possible weekend work in various weather conditions and in remote areas.
- Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with respect to the maintenance, service and repair of heavy-duty equipment.
- Ability to perform labor - physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively and express thoughts and ideas in a clear and professional manner.
- Good listening skills along with ability to accept and follow direction/instruction.
- Safety & Equipment Certification Requirements: Minimum of **2-5 years’ experience** needed.
