Litigation Paralegal

Nelson, Watson Professional Corporation is looking to hire a licensed paralegal to join its busy litigation team.

**Requirements**:

- Law Society of Ontario Class P1 Licence in good standing;
- Driver’s licence in good standing;
- Minimum 2 years of related experience with a law firm or company;
- Organized and detail-oriented;
- Excellent communication, writing, time management, and multitasking skills;
- Strong self-management skills;
- Strong advocacy skills;
- Knowledge of Court/Tribunal procedure and rules;
- Experience with LEAP legal software an asset

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide legal services to clients in a variety of practice areas including (without limitation) Small Claims Court, Landlord/Tenant, Provincial Offences, Employment, Social Benefits, and Workplace Injury/Insurance;
- Occasional assistance on litigation files under the supervision of the firm’s lawyers;
- Assume carriage of existing files, including preparation of correspondence, client meetings, preparation of pleadings and other legal documents, attendance in Courts and Tribunals;
- Organization and management of files using legal software;
- Docketing billable hours and monthly client billing.
