**Carnegie Gallery / Dundas Art and Craft Association**

The Carnegie Gallery is a not-for-profit gallery and shop located in Dundas, Ontario. The Gallery Shop features a vast array of fine art and craft created by its regional Artist Members. The Gallery Exhibition space exhibits art and craft created by contemporary Canadian artists with exhibitions changing on a monthly basis. We also offer an array of educational programs, like lectures, children’s art classes and bus trips, along with fundraising events like our Carnegie Concert Series and Secret Gardens Tour.

**We are looking to add a permanent part-time sales and customer assistance associate to our staff.**

Weekly duties of the Gallery Associate include operations of the store and exhibition space. Tasks include sales of merchandise, membership, ticket and exhibition sales, as well as processing online orders through PayPal. Responsibilities also include customer relations and information inquiries, display maintenance, receiving stock, balancing of cash, and opening and closing procedures.

**Skills**
- Strong familiarity with PC computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, and online research tools
- A facility to learn and use the Lightspeed POS system
- Strong command of oral and written English a positive attitude
- Comfortable with some physical work
- Self-motivated and able to work predominately independently
- Retail experience is preferred and gallery experience is considered an asset
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Active involvement in the arts is an asset

Position to begin immediately after a training period of two weeks.

Hours are Saturday 10:00 am-5:00 pm and, Sunday 12-4 pm, with additional hours added during the months of November and December, and occasional support at special events and functions.

All customers are recommended to wear masks. Surfaces are disinfected daily and there are sanitizers located at entrances. Capacity limitations are still in place.
