BEHAVIOUR CONSULTANT POSITION:
A Behaviour Consultant works with families and behaviour interventionists to address challenging behaviours and teach adaptive skills to children, youth, and teens. Our consultation services take place in the family home, school, or community and are designed with the goal of teaching parents and caregivers the most effective strategies to use when reducing a challenging behaviour or teaching a new skill. Our mission is to _provide our families with the necessary tools to reach independence through support and education._
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Current BCBA/BCaBA® certification
- OR A graduate degree in ABA, or an equivalent graduate degree (psychology, education, special education)
- OR current enrollment in these courses
- Strong knowledge of ASD and minimum of two years of experience working with individuals who experience behaviour challenges is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assessment of challenging behaviour and identification of appropriate alternatives to teach
- Teach functional self-care, community living, language, social, and self-regulation skills
- Develops and implements Behaviour Intervention Plans (BPI) in the client’s home, school, or community
- Provides training and ongoing in-home coaching to families, caregivers, and behaviour interventionists
- Monitors progress through ongoing data collection and adjusts BPI as necessary
- Regular observations of behaviour interventionists
- Maintains regular contact with families and team members
- Keeps up-to-date with current literature and research in the field

We reduce challenging behaviour by identifying the function and teaching appropriate alternatives. Our services range from Early Start Denver Model, Applied Behaviour Analysis, to academic tutoring.
We provide services across Vancouver Island, BC.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
**Salary**: $40.00-$70.00 per hour
