**March Break & Summer Camp Counsellors**
**Position Overview**
The Camp Counsellor is responsible for providing camp participants with a fun, safe and inclusive day camp

experience. Working independently and as part of a collaborative team, the Camp Counsellor will develop

and deliver daily and weekly programming, provide effective supervision of campers under his/her care and

will ensure adherence to and effective communication of all established policies and procedures. Before

eligible to be considered for summer student employment. To be deemed eligible you must be:

between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*;

a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration
and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,

have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance
with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

**Start Date(s) & Hours per Week **

March Break Camp: March 13-17, mandatory planning and training TBD

Summer Camp: Eight consecutive weeks, commencing July 4, 2023 / 40 hours per week. Mandatory
planning/training scheduled week of June 26, 2023.

**Required Certifications, Licenses, Training, etc. **

Current Level C Standard First Aid & CPR Certification.

High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification.

Any additional certifications demonstrating applicable experience working with children ages 4-12.***

**Qualifications **

Demonstrated aptitude and passion for delivering an exceptional and engaging camp experience.

Previous childminding experience is required with preference given to those who possess day camp
experience and/or experience delivering youth-targeted recreational programming.

Ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, strong customer service, organizational,
communication, and problem-solving skills.

Must possess the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently in an
outdoor and aquatic environment.

Applicants must be available to attend required training and the full period of Summer Day Camp
