Athlete Coordinator**

**Position Description**

Join an exciting team of people dedicated to making sports and recreation experiences come to life for athletes with physical/cognitive disabilities and neurodiversity. The Athlete Coordinator works with families, participants and coaches to successfully align athletes with the day-to-day programs offered by Whistler Adaptive Sports.

**Primary Objective**
- To connect athletes with Whistler Adaptive Sports Programs
- To support the development of adaptive sports programming
- To create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all individuals associated with Whistler Adaptive
- To provide administrative support for the organization

**Specific Responsibilities**

Administration:

- Conduct intake of athletes and participants as well as assist with the creation of individualized recreational and sport plans.
- Implement and maintain the current athlete customer relationship management (CRM) and other software as needed.
- Maintain athlete profiles with accurate athlete reporting, athlete registration files, yearly waivers, media releases and other program-related administration.
- Conduct regular program surveys.
- Administer accompany ticket requests and requests for Adaptive Seasons Pass’.
- Manage bursary coordination (but not limited to) with individuals and families.
- Provide athlete invoicing to bookkeeper and follow up with accounts receivables in a timely manner.
- Support the team with fundraising efforts as directed by the Executive Director.

Program Operations:

- Work with Coaches and the Volunteer Coordinator to plan, schedule and facilitate weekly, monthly and seasonal programming.
- Assist with scheduling and facilitating seasonal camps.
- Coordinate individuals to participate in community programs with WAS ‘buddies’.
- Act as the liaison for local and visiting athletes and their families.
- Maintain relationships with athletes, families and related community organizations.
- Maintain regular communications with WAS program participants.
- Coordinate equipment rentals for athletes.
- Ensure a safe and inviting environment for active participants and athletes.
- Adhere to all safety operating procedures.
- Foster a strong culture of health and safety

Risk Management:

- Ensure WAS safety protocols and quality of delivering programs is maintained.
- Work with Whistler Adaptive staff to ensure that all WorkSafeBC requirements are met.

**Key Competencies**
- Great organizational skills
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience/comfortable with learning various software platforms.
- Passion for adaptive sport and making a difference in our community.
- Experience working with non-profit organizations, sports and recreation, recreation therapy or community-based programs.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with individuals of all ages and abilities and their families.

**Other notes**:

- Must have valid drivers licence and personal vehicle
- Some evening and weekend work will be required from time to time
- Based in Whistler, BC

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
