**We are looking for a Cable Plow Operator for the installation of underground flexible tubing for utilities construction. Applicants must provide an up-to-date resume and be prepared to supply job references upon interview.**

**The Cable Plow Operator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment and machines, working in collaboration with the spotter to safely and accurately complete underground utility installations according to construction design.**

**What you will do**
- Work under the direction of site supervisor and/or foreman
- Work in collaboration with 2-3 crew partners assigned to perform spotting ahead of plow, and perform ground restoration work behind cable plow
- Assist in the daily preparation and planning of required work activities and supporting materials to maximize efficiency.

Working in collaboration with crew to survey area with utility locates and construction designs to plan a safe installation path of underground conduit in compliance with offset, depth and material type requirements.
- Safely and securely load, transport all materials and tools
- Prepare a safe working area through correct setup of traffic control signage, barrels, and cones in accordance to approved Traffic Control Plans.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations including the wearing of personal protective equipment.

Prepare and position plow according to ground conditions.
- Spotter and Plow Operator to remain in constant communication to safely and precisely steer plow along determined path, maintaining required safe distance from underground utilities and structures, along with required depth and road offsets per permit
- Install 1 or more conduit along trench path, sealing and labelling ends of conduit in preparation for downstream civil and/or drill crew
- Document and report accurate wheel-based measurements of installed conduit segments with accurate location details
- Conduct daily inspection, maintenance and cleaning of plow trencher equipment, and updating of equipment maintenance log books
- Stay up to date on plow / open trench best practices to maximize effectiveness on job site.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cable Plow Operator: Minimum 2 years of experience working as a plow operator using Vermeer or Bron cable plows. Equipment presently used include Vermeer RT1250 and Bron 150 cable plows
- Valid drivers’ license with clean driving abstract
- Detailed knowledge in the safe and proper operation of cable plow trencher, tools, and techniques
- Exceptional proficiency with reading utility locates and engineering design plans.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- Strong work ethic to and integrity is a mandatory expectation of this role
- Strong interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with team members and construction crews to maintain a positive working environment for all.
- Must be comfortable to work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel to different job sites as required

**Work Location**:

- Greater Leamington Area (Kingsville, Leamington, Wheatley)

Pay: From $34.77 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 48 per week
