**Your Opportunit**y:
Reporting to the Information Technology Coordinator, the Digital Literacy Specialist will be responsible for creating, and delivering digital literacy initiatives and technology-based programming, with a focus on the Library’s new Makerspace, troubleshooting minor technology hardware and software issues, and organizing resources and services. The Digital Literacy Specialist will also contribute to fostering digital literacy through facilitating member and staff learning and creating a welcoming environment for Library members. This position requires an energetic and innovative individual who is passionate about library and maker technologies, life-long learning, championing customer service and performing other duties as assigned.

**Working Conditions**:
Salary Range: $24.62 to $30.69 per hour (2020 rate - CUPE Grade 4)

Status: Affiliated, Regular Full-Time

Schedule: Average of 35 hours per week, including two (2) evenings per week and alternating weekends

Work Location: System-wide

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution with a focus in education, technology, digital media, design, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience to the satisfaction of the Library CEO.
- Minimum of two years of relevant public service experience.
- Proficiency with hardware technologies (such as: desktop/laptop/tablet computers, projectors, digital cameras and audio recording hardware, laser printers and 3D printers, virtual reality, and additional hardware technologies and services as they become available).
- Strong ability to facilitate digital literacy programs and services to members of all ages and internal staff in both individual and group settings, such as web development, audio/visual/3D design, computer/tablet/mobile skills, and productivity suite skills.
- Willingness to take initiative, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and to continually learn new things on the job.
- Experience in providing in-depth reference, reader advisory, and circulation services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in an environment of constant change.
- Valid First Aid Certification is considered an asset.
- A satisfactory Standard Criminal Record Check (CPIC) is required prior to commencement of employment.
