Quality Assurance Manager

**Belvika Trade & Packaging Ltd. **is a leading one-stop contract packaging company, specializing in precision packing of dry foods, snack food and confectionary products from multiple facilities totaling more than 400,000 ft2. At almost 30-year-old and 100% owned Canadian Company, Belvika has grown to be one of the largest co-manufacturers of confectionary, snack products, and dry food blending and packaging in Canada. Belvika uses its extensive experience in managing both manual processes and automated equipment to handle primary and secondary packaging of products for some of the world’s best known confectionary and food brands.
Belvika is currently seeking a **Quality Assurance Manager **to support the QA functions for all Belvika facilities. This position will be based at the **Mississauga location**, located at 450 Export Blvd., Mississauga, Ontario, but must be able to travel to all facilities.
- Lead the 3rd party certification audits (SQF & AIB), customer audits and regulatory inspections as needed;
- Ensure internal facilities and external supplier facilities are in audit compliance;
- Support the Sr. QA Manager in updating and ensuring compliance in the Quality and Food Safety program for all locations;
- Support the Sr. QA Manager in development & administration of Q&FS policies and procedures to support SQF/AIB compliance, GMP and HACCP programs. Assist in ensuring all facilities are in compliance with prescribed GMP, HACCP and SQF/AIB quality standards;
- Work with the Sr. QA Manager to investigate, identify root causes & determine appropriate response and corrective actions and preventive actions. Contribute to a resolution and ensure follow up and updated procedures are in place;
- Collaboratively work with cross functional teams on launching new projects to ensure all aspects of the food safety and quality requirements can be met;
- Work with Sr. QA Manager to interview, hire, and train new employees for the QA department;
- Act as backup to the Sr. QA Manager;
- All other duties as assigned.
**Education/Work experience requirements**:
- University education in food science or other applicable degree.
- 5+ years related work experience in a food industry environment in a quality leadership role.
- Solid knowledge of understanding GFSI recognized certification program requirements.
- Must have HACCP certification (minimum 2 days training) and be experienced and competent to maintain a HACCP based food safety system. Internal auditor, PCQI, etc. certification is an asset.
- Experience in leading GFSI recognized certification audits and customer audits. Experience with AIB inspection is an asset.
- Able to prioritize and manage a diverse number of projects.

- Knowledge of quality auditing, inspection methods;
- Detail oriented;
- Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task;
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel;
