**Job Title**: Advanced Product Development (APD) Analyst

**Career Opportunity and General Scope of Responsibilities**:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Product Development Analyst within our Kanata Business Support Centre. The APD Analyst will provide technical support and perform testing for company’s products. In addition, APD Analyst will maintain focus on our customers' challenges and perform testing for customers' products.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
- Foster a safe and healthy workplace through absolute compliance with health & safety, and respect policies.
- Returned Fabric Analysis process (Forming, Press and Dryer). Maintain databases, test and analyze, write reports.
- New Product Development fabric testing process. Maintain databases, test and analyze, report results.
- Paper Analysis and Testing process.
- APD lab requests and specialized testing process (PMC & AF, Filaments, and Nonwovens).
- Competitive Analysis process. Maintain databases, test and analyze, report results.
- Support and work collaboratively with sales and marketing as required.
- Generate and maintain Safety and Quality documentation, i.e. Work Instructions, Calibration, TPM, and LOTO.
- Support manufacturing operations, and sales & marketing as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Reporting Relationships**:
**Line**: APD Analyst Team Leader
**Coordination**: Advanced Product Development Team, New Product Development Teams, Continuous Improvement Teams, Production Teams, Business Leaders, and Product Managers.
**Supervision Received**:
Standard testing and analysis is received with instructions as to the tests to be performed, and normally done without technical advice. Guidance and supervision is received for special requests or non-routine work.
**Supervisory Responsibilities**:
None, but occasionally temporary associates, such as students.
**Position Requirements**:Education/ Experience**:
- University, college diploma or high school diploma plus equivalent working experience (preferably in science or technology). Laboratory testing experience is an asset.
- Background in pulp and paper, technical têxtiles or polymer materials is an asset.
**Skills**:
- Bilingual, French and English, effective oral and written communication.
- Ability to operate a variety of têxtile testing equipment and custom in-house engineered equipment.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook), JDE, and SharePoint.
- Ability to prioritize work and multi-task to meet turn-around times and deadlines.
- Takes initiative and is highly motivated to deliver results and drive continuous improvement.
- Works collaboratively, creatively, and flexibly within interdisciplinary teams, customers and suppliers to deliver exceptional results
**Location**:
- Kanata, Ontario, Canada. This is an on-site role that requires working in the Kanata Business Support Centre.
**Effort & Working Conditions**:
- Safety protocols are to be followed at all times. Work Instruction and Operating Instructions are available. PPE is supplied and must be worn in some areas or while performing specific tests.
- The office environment is clean and climate controlled within a partitioned workstation.
- Frequent need to lift light articles and occasional need to lift and carry articles up to 50 lbs (22 kg).
- Occasional bending and twisting, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Work environment allows the associate to sit comfortably and move about freely, not confined to an office.
- There is occasional involvement with larger test machines within the APD lab that are wet and noisy.
- Sensory attention is required to read reports, and observe test results.
- The associate has some customer contact and some business travel.
