**POSITION **SUMMARY**:
The Clinic Manager ensures the smooth administration of the Burnaby Patient Medical Home Priority Population Clinic. In accordance with the mission, vision, values, and strategic directions of MOSAIC client/patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone within the organization, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Reporting to the Clinic Director, the Clinic Manager will serve as the first point of contact for the Medical Office Assistant (MOA) team and anyone seeking information about the Primary Care Clinic. The Clinic Manager will work closely with the Clinic Director and the Primary Care team to obtain a thorough understanding of the clinic and its relationship to other MOSIAC programs and the rest of the organization.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintain a working knowledge of best practices in medical governance as well as MOSAIC’s obligations in terms of compliance with applicable Acts
- Make recommendations for changes to, draft, and revise policies and procedures required for efficient and quality patient care.
- Uphold the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019)
- Act as a resource across programs by providing functional guidance regarding staffing, policies and procedures, business processes, and system navigation.
- Participate in quality initiatives for clinic services, programs, and facilities implementation of approved modifications to ensure optimal use of organizational resources and safe delivery of patient care.
- Manage patient records and ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations according to legislation
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal clinic operation
- Organizing and scheduling referrals and the clinic waitlist
- Ensuring effective communication between the medical staff and administrative staff
- Communicating with labs, other health care providers, and insurance companies
- Be the first point of contact between the Clinic and the Organization for effective flow of information
- Monitor the budget for the Clinic, review monthly reports, and ensure expenses are recorded
- Provide daily supervision and functional guidance to delegated staff using effective management techniques (e.g., monitoring performance, coaching, and skill development) to support the achievement of required outcomes and ensure adherence to MOSAIC policies and standards. Investigates work and staff issues, conducts first-level performance management, escalating complex discipline issues as may be required
