Raytheon ELCAN Optical Technologies is continuing its commitment to invest in the development of our employees. We are looking for positive, detail oriented individuals with a commitment to quality and further education. The Apprenticeship program is a 4 year commitment that will include scheduled rotations in the workplace to achieve 8000 hours, attending school and writing all applicable tests. All applicants will be required to go through an Apprenticeship Aptitude Test and Interview process.

General Machinist Apprentices will learn a variety of mechanical manufacturing processes. Apprentices will learn to operate various conventional and CNC equipment with a heavy focus on CNC Milling and Turning. In addition to machine tasks, apprentices will learn about all mechanical manufacturing processes such as CMM measurement, standard measuring equipment, mechanical blue print reading with introduction to geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Apprentices will learn to maintain specifications outlined in the work instruction package, ensuring that the operation is efficient, safe and that product quality is achieved.

**Technical Requirements**
- O.S.S.D. or equivalent required.
- Experience in handling of optical components would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the metric system would be an asset.
- Drawing Interpretation and general knowledge of GD&T is required and would be an asset.
- Good math skills required and would be an asset.
- Must have good finger dexterity and neat working habits.
- Required to have some exposure to the operation of machine shop equipment.
- Must be familiar with standard measuring equipment and measuring practice.

- Acquiring and demonstrating knowledge of safety and health procedures as they relate to the human resources of the organization.
