**LAUNDRY WORKER**
**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**POSITION**:Casual** **Laundry Worker
**DEPARTMENT**: Environmental Services
**REPORTS TO**: Facility Support Manager

Responsible for general laundry duties as assigned. These may include the sorting, loading and folding of laundry and delivering to Lanes. Maintains a regular cleaning schedule of laundry area.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum completion of Grade Twelve (12) required,
- Knowledge and ability to operate and use institutional laundry equipment,
- Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills,
- Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis,
- Must be comfortable working around seniors.

**General Duties**
- Responsible for the processing of all linens and personal laundry items includes collecting, sorting and folding etc.
- Responsible to use industrial washers and dryers according to guidelines,
- Maintains laundry stocks and delivers to the Lanes,
- Responsible for the routine cleaning of all laundry equipment,
- Replenishes supplies,
- Reports defective equipment or linens to the Facility Support Manager,
- Is familiar with the Home's Policies, Procedures, Fire and Safety, and Emergency Procedures and carries out guidelines of same,
- Attends staff education sessions as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Ensures that all information of the Home is treated in strict confidence,
- Ensures that requests made by all parties are not in conflict with privacy legislation,
- Ensures that the privacy and dignity of residents, families, and staff are protected in all transactions with the Home.
