Plumbing Service Technician/Installer

**Reports To**

Service Manager

**Job Summary**

The Plumbing Service Technician/Installer, under the direction of the Service Manager will be responsible for adhering to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This role will also adhere to company policies and standards. The Service Technician/Installer must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and 306A license. G2 gas tickets considered an asset. Must also have work experience in a related field.

**Job Duties**
- Support customer base by resolving questions, concerns and technical issues, as well as handling customer inquiries and complaints which are escalated from other departments
- Analyze problems and make recommendations as to root causes and corrective actions
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
- Respond to customer service calls in a courteous and professional manner
- Handle customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the appropriate individual as deemed necessary
- Maintain a high level of customer service
- Troubleshoot plumbing problems related to products and services
- Adapt communication style in order to deliver information effectively to a range of individuals
- Develop and build relationships with new accounts and develop additional contacts within existing accounts
- Ensure follow-up by passing leads to Sales Representatives
- Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge
- Review and adapt to information regarding product innovations, competitors, and market conditions

**Job Requirements**
- 306A license Journeyperson Plumber Certification
- G1/G2 gas tickets are considered an asset
- 5 years’ or more experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract
- Self-motivation with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Highly developed understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices
- A clean criminal record check
- New MOL approved Working at heights training, AWP and WHMIS 2015 training considered an asset
- Ability to quickly pick up new product and service knowledge, and communicate that knowledge effectively to customers
- Firm understanding of electrical, plumbing schematics and sequence of operations regarding boilers, combination heaters and mechanical equipment, relays and zones considered an asset
- Able to diagnose, repair and maintain all brands of plumbing fixtures, faucets and equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Demonstrated time management skills
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Ability to adapt to new technology

**Work Conditions**
- Working hours are 7 am - 5 pm, varies based on workload and season. Must be available for overtime, if required.
- Must be physically capable of performing duties, lifting 60+ lbs for the duration of 8.5-hour shift, ladder/stair use
- Will be going on construction sites, must be capable of walking on uneven ground,
- Will be going into confined spaces, basements and attics
- Will be working in various temperatures and weather, indoors and outdoors
- Able to wear all PPE including work boots and hard hat
- Interaction with customers/clients, and the public at large
- Operation of smartphone and various mobile apps and the internet

**Compensation**
- $40 - 45/hour, depending on experience, 4% vacation pay accrued
- ½ hr lunch paid, 2-15 min breaks paid
- 3-month probationary period

**Salary**: $40.00-$45.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Service Plumber: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- 306A Journeyperson Certification (required)
- G2 Gas License (required)

Work Location: One location
