Reporting to the Manager, Business Performance & Standards, the Web Content Coordinator will work with professional and technical teams, both internal and external to the organization, to provide a wide range of web services in support of divisional strategic objectives.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Writes and edits creative copy for a variety of interactive media including the internet, intranet, social media, multimedia presentations, and other promotional tools.
- Ensures web content meets the corporate style guide and accessibility requirements.
- Ensures content within the division's internet and intranet websites are integrated, accurate and current.
- Provides evaluation and analysis of web statistics using analytics and reporting tools.
- Consults with business units and provides support to project teams to determine business unit information and web based service to identify solutions to meet business requirements.
- Assists with the development and redesign of workflows, methodologies and processes for maintenance of digital content and assets.
- Creates and presents user personas, user experience scenarios and test cases.
- Develops, documents, implements and monitors adherence to web development and information management standards including style guides, metadata standards, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and other classifications systems for navigation or other categorization needs.
- Assists with the maintenance and development of content libraries consisting of information and design assets in the form of text, photography, graphics, video and audio.
- Ensures that content providers are trained in writing for the web by setting standards. Develops, delivers and evaluates training programs and materials.
- Assists in the development of marketing and communications strategies, including coordinated workplans and editorial schedules across multiple channels, including social media.
- Provides expertise in the development and support of new web based products and services as the division's information needs evolve. Ensures that legal and legislated standards are upheld (e.g. the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Trade-marks Act and the Copyright Act, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act).

**Key Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Web Design, Web Development, Information Management, Digital Media, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience writing and editing content for the web and creating web pages using WordPress or other similar web content authoring and website management tools, including HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, CSS.
- Experience in content management and organization, information architecture, website design and standards, search engine optimization, and responsive web design.

Experience with government legislation, in particular the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)'s requirements and standards applicable to information including the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), and the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

**You must also have**:

- Well-developed interpersonal skills: proven ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels; exceptional technical, verbal and written communications skills and ability to establish and maintain a good consulting relationship with stakeholders and vendors.
- Ability to show initiative and self-direction, maintain currency of knowledge, identify and solve problems that require investigation and creativity, and respond flexibly and productively to multiple and changing priorities in a in a results oriented team environment.
- Knowledge of technical, industry and professional records and information management standards, including national and international standards (e.g. ISO 15489).
- Familiarity with metadata standards and content tagging structure.
- Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility across multiple platforms, navigational patterns and the constraints involved in digital design.
- Knowledge in formal and informal usability testing, user research and heuristic analysis, user scenario writing, documentation, test design and Quality Assurance scripting and translating user research into design decisions.
- Knowledge working with content management and enterprise level software including WordPress, Microsoft SharePoint and Jira.
