**Role**:
Alberta Environment and Protected Areas is transforming its environmental regulatory system to improve regulatory efficiency, oversight and stewardship of Alberta's natural resources. This strategic transformation involves implementing a new regulatory assurance framework that ensures environmental regulatory assurance and establishes guiding principles and enabling components. The comprehensive regulatory approach is risk informed, data driven, outcomes focused and integrated across the _Water Act,_ _Public Lands Act_ and _Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act_.

The purpose of the Regulatory Excellence Program is to support the transition to and sustainment of the new regulatory assurance framework; and to ensure the regulatory system is functioning as intended.

All work is conducted with the goal of ensuring that the interests and priorities of the division (and department) are effectively administered as well as represent the spirit of Division culture. The incumbent may be required to liaise with key stakeholders inside and outside of the GoA during the course of their duties.

**The RAD Secretariat Advisor will**:

- Lead, collaborate and support committee chair(s) and task teams
- Lead and support senior management in planning and reporting to achieve business goals
- Maintain excellence in governance functions and accountabilities
- Support effective operational management to achieve strategic goals

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
University graduation in a related field such as public administration, business, communications or natural, social or environmental sciences plus two years progressively responsible related experience.

**Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**Additional assets that preference will be given to**:

- High level of self-management, ability to function independently as well as lead and contribute within a team environment
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Excellent organizational skills for both time and task management
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), experience organizing meeting packages, drafting meeting summaries and communicating with staff and management
- Experience in stakeholder relations and project management
- Experience working with SharePoint and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint

**Salary**:
$2,588.06 to $3,397.76 bi-weekly ($67,548 - $88,681/year).

This is a two-year temporary position.
