**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
We are seeking a Youth Development Coordinator to design and deliver a holistic youth development program that incorporates cultural paradigms in framework and implementation. The coordinator is responsible for program management, evaluation and will report to the senior staff or designate.**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Coordinate ACCA’s mentorship program including recruitment, orientation, matching, management, and evaluation
- Identify and recruit program volunteers including mentors and elders.
- Organize recreational activities including
- drumming, storytelling, retreats, and other after-school programming.
- Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of services and programs for youth in the community
- Ensure implementation of policies, procedures and develop other related to child welfare in Ontario.
- Develop key partnerships with local school boards, youth groups in the community.
- Ensure program is adequately evaluated.

**PROGRAM MANAGEMENT**
- Support the advisory committee for program oversight.
- Maintain program budget.
- Prepare and submit regular funding reports.
- Ensure program operation meets all legislative framework related to child welfare.
- Support all other special projects and daily assignments as assigned by the President or designate.

**ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF THE PROGRAM**
- Establish and support a community advisory committee for program oversight.
- Prepare monthly staff report including financial report.
- Prepare and submit regular program reports
- Ensure program operation meets all legislative frameworks related to child welfare.
- All other special projects and daily assignments as assigned by the senior staff and or designate.
- Participate in creating the budget for programs in consultation senior staff or designate.
- Monitor and manage the program expenditures.
- Assist in proposal development for youth program funding.
- Ensure a secure filing system is set up in accordance with the law for confidential documents related to staff and volunteers.
- Experience in planning and organizing education/information sessions online and in person.

**KNOWLEDGE**:

- Experience in working with youth
- Experience delivering youth centered programming
- Knowledge of community organizations and resources for youth in the Hamilton area
- Possess a solid understanding and analysis of race and racism, anti-oppression, anti-racism, and anti-discrimination and their impacts
- Ability to utilize zoom and other virtual meeting platforms.
- Conversant in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Be energetic, flexible, a team-player, detail-oriented, and consistently successful at meeting deadlines
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess the ability to handle multiple projects and have excellent time management skills.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATION**
- Bachelor’s Degree or associate degree plus two to three years of additional work experience with two to three-years professional experience in similar role in Program Coordination.
- Direct experience in working with youth from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work as an integral part of a team.
- Experience with community-based initiatives in the diverse Black communities.
- Demonstrated crisis intervention skills and ability to respond sensitively to individuals who have experienced trauma through incidents of racism.
- Demonstrated coordination and/or project management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, including ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
- Ability to work comfortably and with sensitivity to the values and expectations of people of diverse educational, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to take initiative, solve problems, anticipate actions, and to use creative means to complete tasks.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

**JOB LOCATION**:
423 King Street East, Hamilton

Starting Salary $60,000.00

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 24 months

**Salary**: From $60,000.00 per year
