**The opportunity**:
We are currently looking for a **Pressman** to complete our press team. Located in Scarborough, Ontario, our trade printing facility specializes in innovative trade printing business and provides a complete printing service accessible through our website.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Read and understand a job ticket; Interpret layouts, ensure that correct paper/plastic is issued and determines ink to use.
- Responsible for press make-ready and set-up; determine best sequence of colors.
- Achieve and monitor colour for consistency.
- Completes necessary paper work and records, including recording operations and inventory on computer.
- Examines printed product for ink density, position on stock and registration and makes adjustments throughout production to maintain guide, registration and colour density.
- Inspects plates for visual defects.
- Mounts plates, blankets and balances colour.
- Maintains overall production and quality of jobs by operating press according to standard operating procedures required for the press.
- Troubleshoots and performs minor adjustments and repairs, including removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers, using hand tools.
- Prepares materials for upcoming jobs by viewing production schedule and conferring with operator.
- Fills ink fountains of press; mix ink, maintain ink at acceptable levels.
- Completes material usage report and substrate usage logbook and other necessary paperwork.
- Operates material handling equipment to move loads to staging area for finishing.
- Cleaning machine and work station at the end of the shift.

**Qualifications and skills**:

- Must have experience in a commercial or trade printing company or equivalent manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical skills, manufacturing experience, and the capacity to follow detailed instructions.
- Must be reliable and flexible to meet all customer demands
- Communicates with others in a positive and helpful manner
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction, safety and housekeeping.
- Ability to work efficiently with no supervision and the ability to work in a team environment and be a Team Player.

**Specific skills**:

- Must have experience with **UV offset printing**:

- Set up press and operate at slow speed to check samples.
- Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run.
- Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments.
- Monitor regular press run for quality using computer control console.
- Fill ink fountains and control colour and viscosity.
