Ottawa, Canada Direct Funding - Attendant Services Full time

I’m a paracyclist with a spinal cord injury looking to secure assistance for when I travel with the team.

My care requirement are a typical morning routine which includes assistance bathing and dressing. My transfers are spotting no lifting required and can self direct all my needs. Nursing skills and in field experience will be preferred. Cycling or fitness enthusiast is a bonus.

Travel dates can range for 2-3 days(within driving distance) to 6-10 days (international) passport is a requirement. Attendance of team camps and international competitions.

Compensation will be through direct funding which wage will be negotiated $25/$30/hr for times worked 4/6 hours a day and all expenses covered. Sharing a hotel room is likely.

My goal is to have a few individuals as options once dates are available. (Currently looking for Nov 23-24) International dates are spring to fall typically. Destinations range from Mostly Europe but also across North America and Quebec/Ontario

**Job Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
- Support clients with mobility and transfers to ensure safety
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients
- Travel assistance

**Experience**
- Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in hospice care, home care, or nursing home settings is preferred
- Familiarity with patient care techniques
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively
- A caring attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality support to an individual with a disability

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 1 month

Pay: $23.00-$27.50 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 25 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed

- Caregiving: 1 year (preferred)
