Construction - Field Labourer

The Field Labourer’s role is to primarily assist with all aspects of maintaining a clean, safe and organized worksite. The Field Labourer is an extension of the Field Superintendent reporting un-safe conditions. As an advocate of Reid’s Heritage Homes, the Field Labourer practices Health and Safety standards and follows all Reid’s Heritage Homes’ rules and regulations to provide the best customer experience.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure houses are inspected following shift sign-in and sign-out insuring they are adequately heated (winter months) - homes with operating propane or natural gas heaters must have adequate ventilation
- Ensure tools (company tools only) are stored in the trailer at the end of each shift
- Provide 24-hour notice to ensure garbage bins are emptied
- Ensure houses and trailers are secured prior to leaving at end of shift
- Ensure all tubs, shower units and windows are stored in garages, or covered areas, not visible from street (cover garage entrance with sheeting if required)
- Ensure sub-trades have all materials required for their tasks on-hand
- Ensure left-over useable building materials are transferred to the next house
- Ensure the interiors and exteriors of trailers and storage garages are kept tidy and organized at all times - sweep once a week
- Ensure lumber scrap piles are kept neat and materials segregated as required
- Ensure site and work areas are clean and safe for trades to work (including snow removal, sweeping, etc)
- Track the signing-in/out of all site generators, electric heaters and propane heaters including lock-up and storage
- Install and ensure all safety guard rails in use during construction period are secure
- Report all unsafe work conditions to Field Superintendent
- Other duties as required by Field Superintendent

**Qualifications**
- Trustworthy with a good work ethic
- Experience in a construction service related field, an asset
- Ability to work with power tools and provide own tools, an asset
- Working at Heights certificate of training
- Safety conscientious
- Works well independently and in a team environment
- Professional at all times and a hard worker

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
