**THE ROLE**:
The Overnight House person position is generally responsible for the stocking of all linen supply closets, cleaning and servicing all guest and public areas and assisting room attendants in moving supplies. While also ensuring that all guest requests receive prompt attention and friendly service.

**ACTIVITIES**:
The duties and responsibilities for the Overnight House person include, but are not limited to the following:

- Thorough and complete cleaning requirements on all guest floors, public washrooms, elevators, stairwells, and interior/exterior public areas, fitness room as set by efficiency standards of the hotel.
- Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers and elevator doors
- Greet any and all guests with a “Good Morning” (or afternoon, evening)
- Obtain amenities and supplies for Room Attendants
- Organize and sort soiled linen and terry in chute room for pick-up
- Ensure count of clean linen and terry is correct and deliver it to linen closets on guest floors
- Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor
- Shampoo carpets and spot treatments as needed in guest rooms, hallways and public areas
- Assist with deep cleaning projects
- Prepare and set morning coffee for the lobby area
- Report any damages, hazards, repairs and unfamiliar person(s) in assigned areas
- Return any items found in guestrooms, hallways or back of the house to the lost and found
- Follow hotel policies in relation to key control, and the security of hotel property, including linens, supply carts, vacuums and storage rooms.
- Ensure security standards are practiced, to protect guest’s and employee’s privacy and belongings.
- Help prevent waste and misuse of guest and cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures, and follow procedures listed in shift checklists.
- Strip rooms and remove trash
- Responds to Front desk calls, assisting in checking rooms, luggage delivery and guest special request in a timely and friendly manner
- Arrive on time for scheduled shift
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

- Ability to lift and carry a weight of approximately 20 pounds.
- Flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure during busy times.
- Literacy skills - reading, writing, and oral.
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Work well independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision.
- Self-motivated, honest, creative, capable of working in a team environment.
- Flexible attitude to scheduled shifts - this is an overnight position with shifts during the week, weekends and/or holidays.
