**Hardware Technician**

ISC Applied Systems is a Canadian company specializing in the field of information and safety systems for passenger trains for more than twenty-five (25) years. We develop fully integrated solutions to inform, monitor and communicate with our rail passengers around the world.

The hardware specialist technicianis supporting the processes used to design, update and repair the hardware aspect of our products. He plays a key role in the evolution and integration of the hardware architecture of our communication system by meeting the specific requirements of the customer.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Developments Management**:

- Ensure that documentation is written and updated as per standards
- Optimize the performance and quality of deliverables associated with hardware development
- Estimate activities and report progress
- Ensure that standards and procedures associated with hardware development are monitored
- Improving the work environment, tools and organization
- Ensure proper interdepartmental communication

**Design**
- Participate in hardware development (Schematic design, electronic component selection, layout and qualifications)
- Perform bring-up, verification and validation of circuit board prototypes
- Verify qualification reports to ensure electrical, climatic and electromagnetic compliance
- Participate to the dev of test bench, test firmware and test procedure for production
- Maintain bill of material and electronic component library

**EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education and experience**:

- DEC in electrical or electronic (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic components
- Experience in a manufacturing environment

**Technical skills**:

- Knowledge in electronics design (digital, analog)
- Familiar with laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, function generator and specialized test equipment
- Knowledge of printed circuit board design standards (IPC)
- Knowledge of industry standards for interference and electromagnetic immunity and environmental testing (IEEE / IEC / EN)
- Knowledge of printed circuit board design (PCB/A) using Altium Designer or equivalent software
- Knowledge in programming (C/C++) for hardware bring-up purpose
- Knowledge in the following is an asset:

- Scripting language (Python)
- NXP microcontrollers
- CAD tools such as SolidWorks
- Familiar with Jira & Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel
