Landmark East is an independent co-ed day and boarding school for students with learning differences located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, a small university town nestled in the Annapolis Valley. The student base is diverse with learners who have been diagnosed with a learning difference such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Dyslexia, Auditory Processing Disorder, etc. that can make learning challenging in a traditional school setting. Landmark East School is committed to student-centred learning, small class sizes, daily physical activity, and diverse pedagogy. A team of over forty dedicated professionals specializing in various roles drives the school’s success. Landmark East School is a registered charity and actively fundraises to provide student bursaries.

**Position Summary**
As a member of the Student Life Team, you are responsible for helping to develop and lead evening and weekend recreation activities for boarding students in Grades 7-12. Student Recreation Leaders must also be prepared and able to supervise, assist, and ensure the safety and enjoyment of students in a variety of other school and community situations including but not limited to: study hall, student residences, afterschool, and weekend settings, school vehicles, and activities.

**Position Requirements**:
Inter-Personal Skills:

- A mature individual able to confidently provide social and emotional guidance to students
- Capable of modeling, demonstrating, and maintaining high expectations of self and others
- Enthusiastic, engaged, patient, and fully accountable
- Able to think strategically and be a problem solver
- Open-minded and resilient
- Empathetic, caring, and able to communicate a wide range of messaging with a varied group of individuals

Education, Training, and Experience
- Experience working with youth in a school/recreational/coach setting
- Experience leading sports and recreation activities is a must
- Currently enrolled in or completed a college or university level program
- Valid Driver’s License
- Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry
- Current certification for Emergency First Aid or willing to obtain
- Mental Health First Aid is considered an asset
